Some might have filed a 2290 under suspended or exempt from taxes in doubt thinking that your vehicle would not go more than 55,000 miles in a tax year but when you realized it’s going to do more than 5,000 miles and thinking what to do? well In this article we are going to discuss what you need to do when your truck exceeds the exemption limits. Facebook

Hello, there dear truckers! Hope you’re doing good. It’s once again time for some updates with form 2290 filings, about a year ago the IRS stopped accepting credit/debit card payments to pay the taxes, and now it’s back. Recently the IRS began accepting tax payments using Credit/Debit cards and it’s one of the most misunderstood modes of payment. HVUT payers are prone to misconception based on their assumption that paying the IRS tax payment using a credit/debit card is an automated process but in reality, it’s not.

The IRS basically gives four different option to pay your taxes:

1. EFW (Electronic Funds Withdrawal)

2. EFTPS (Electronic Federal tax payment system)

3. CREDIT/ Debit card payment

4. Mailing a check to the IRS

Out of these four if you choose to pay using credit/debit card option you need to log into the IRS payments portal https://www.irs.gov/payments/pay-taxes-by-credit-or-debit-card this portal is dedicated for credit or debit card payments.
